It's an interesting question. I was talking with my wife this morning [she is in the graphic business too] about who is still using Quark XPress? I work for around 30 different companies [not at the same time] and not one of them still uses QXP! In fact, the only person I know still using XPress is my wife and she only uses it for add hock things, as she says she do them faster in QXP than she can in Indesign due to familiarity with the software. Now previously I'd used QXP for more years than I care to remember and Pagemaker before that! But I actually bought ID version 1.0 [£30] when it came out [which was clearly not an XPress killer], but I stuck with Adobe and they came through for me in the end. I think that bundling the product with the CS suite was a master stroke for Adobe which sealed the fate of QXP, after all why would I pay another [£900] for a product that I already have! I wouldn't think of using QXP for design work these days. I still have an old copy which I keep around in case I need to open an old file but that's all. So I was wondering how many of you dear readers were still using QXP and if you were still resisting the change or have no intention of moving to ID? Also, which one is best - my vote goes to ID because it works so well and integrates with the rest of the CS suite.
